Frequently Asked Questions

Most frequent questions and answers

What items are included in The Care Cabinet?

All schools receive basic care items such as deodorants, toothpastes, toothbrushes, feminine hygiene products, new socks, new underwear, snacks, easy make meals, “little happy” items (journals, fun pens, colors, stickers, and small toys), winter gloves/hats, new or gently used clothing, new or gently used coats, new or gently used shoes, cleansing wipes, hair brushes/hair ties, shampoos, and soap.  At times, we accommodate additional needs as well depending on the school.

How do you determine which school to go to?

The Care Cabinet has a goal to reach all schools in our community of Sumner Co.  We are also reaching additional schools in neighboring counties and communities as we can.  We grow mainly by word of mouth, but are also reaching out to schools.

How can I donate?

We welcome monetary donations, as well as, donations of items. Check out our wishlist if you are interested in donating items.  We have drop off locations locally, but you can also place an online order and it will come directly to us.

How can I get involved?

It takes a village to keep The Care Cabinet stocked and ready to go to the next school.  We have volunteers that help us with offloading items and organizing them at The Care Cabinet.  We also have volunteers that help us stock for our schools.  We are happy to have you as an individual, small group, club at school, special needs group, business, nonprofit organization, and anywhere in between.  Volunteering is a fun way to give back with your time and help others.  Just reach out to us and we will get you setup.

How can my school get The Care Cabinet?

We are always growing and moving forward with new schools.  Just send us a message and we will be happy to assist.

How is The Care Cabinet maintained?

Once The Care Cabinet is established at a school, we work with school staff to alert us when they are running low on an item.  We then take them a refill of the item and they place it in the appropriately labeled container.  It’s super easy and efficient.

How can I donate?

We have several ways that you can donate.

Donating funds that will go directly to establishing and maintaining The Care Cabinet at schools.

Make a donation of items that will ship directly to The Care Cabinet.

Items can also be taken to our drop off location at Hendersonville Produce in Hendersonville, TN.  We can also arrange to pick up donations if needed.
